I am writing to apply for the position of Personal Assistant to the Director of Marketing, as advertised in B&T Magazine on the 30th April 2009.
With 3 years’ experience as a Personal Assistant in the entertainment and events industry, I am entirely confident that I have the skills and experience to provide executive assistance to the Director of Marketing at CAT Entertainment.
My main responsibilities at Genesis Events, where I have been a Personal Assistant to the Head of Events since January 2006, were:
- Diary management, including arranging appointments and domestic travel
- Organising meetings and client presentations, including liaising with technical suppliers
- Creating original and persuasive Powerpoint presentations to win client contracts
- Preparing legal contracts
- Preparing and sending written correspondence to clients, suppliers and media
As an essential aide to the Head of Events, I attended all major client meetings where I took minutes and assisted the Head of Events with powerful and convincing marketing presentations. I prepared accompanying material, including budgetary reports, client satisfaction testimonials, and images and media coverage of our past events.
I have highly developed organisational and prioritising skills, with the ability to multitask and effectively manage my time and responsibilities in order to ensure the smooth running of the office. My typing speed is 80wpm with 99% accuracy and I have been using the Microsoft Office Suite for 6 years. I have advanced skills in Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint.
I thrive in a challenging and fast-paced industry and I would be thrilled to assist the Director of Marketing to not only fulfil his obligations, but to outshine his competitors and present exciting and innovative client solutions with confidence.
I have attached my resume and I encourage you to contact me regarding my application.
