Dear Mr Albert,

I am writing to apply for the position of Call Centre Operator with Telephonics, as advertised in the Herald Sun Careers lift out on the 30th April 2009.

With 2 years’ experience as a Call Centre Operator for large organisations, I am entirely confident that I have the skills and experience to enhance customer service delivery and prove an efficient and valuable asset to the Call Centre team at Telephonics.

My key strengths are:

  • providing helpful and relevant customer service to all callers
  • ability to manage a busy and complex switchboard
  • assisting colleagues and management with a busy workload
  • remaining calm and polite in high-pressure situations
  • dealing with agitated or distressed customers
  • redirecting calls to the relevant receivers quickly and accurately

I began my Call Centre career with Optic Phonology in 2002 and completed their on-the-job training in the first four weeks. I proved to be exceptionally fast and accurate in receiving and transferring calls, while it was also noted that I was polite and effective in establishing the immediate needs of my customers. I was soon taking up to 150 calls daily and answering queries relating to information technology queries, faults and service enquiries.

My typing speed is 85wpm and I have advanced skills in word processing and database software. I am also highly experienced in the use of PBX Switchboard technology and caller logging software.

I thrive in a challenging and fast-paced industry and I would be thrilled to join Telephonics in providing exceptional customer service to all callers.

I have attached my resume and I encourage you to contact me regarding my application.

Yours sincerely
