Plant Operator Jobs in Australia
A Plant Operator works in an industrial environment to ensure the smooth running of the processes required to create quality products or develop infrastructure. They may require experience in the use of industry-specific machinery and processes. They may also require licences to use particular machinery, including Heavy Rigid (HR) trucks, forklifts, excavators or Moxy Watercarts.

Plant Operators have opportunities with the Defence force also, where they are employed in the construction and maintenance of Defence force infrastructure.

Generally, Plant Operators master their skills through a combination of on-the-job training, specific courses and work experience. Plant Operators can develop their skills and eventually take on the role of Works Supervisors should they wish to progress to a role with greater supervisory and management responsibilities.
