A Physiotherapist is qualified to practice physical therapy and to prescribe treatment for bodily ailments and to optimise the strength, flexibility and mobility of athletes and sportspeople.

Physiotherapists may specialise in

Their duties may include

Physiotherapists pursue careers in health promotion and in hospitals, outpatients’ clinics, private practice, rehabilitation centres, schools, extended care facilities, sports venues, aged care centres, industrial and commercial premises, nursing homes, psychiatric centres and educational institutions.
